by Titus Goldfist

Supernaturally-endowed Samson, a judge in Israel, was a giant, historical figure. Physically strong, but morally weak, he was born through angelic visit and a prophecy that he would be consecrated as a holy and disciplined Nazarite. Whenever the Spirit of God came upon him, he did great exploits. He killed a lion when going to his wedding, killed 30 Philistines to pay off a clothing debt procured by a riddle. When his wife was given to another man, he burned the wheat fields of the Philistines. He slew 1,000 Philistines at one time with the jawbone of an ass; he once uprooted a giant iron gate at Gaza. At last, he died in a collapsed building with over 3,000 Philistines at his death.
