Chances are somewhere along the line you have heard how important it is to set life goals for yourself. Well, it is really important, but it's also something that many people struggle with. One of the reasons it's so hard for some people is because their goal remains too vague an idea and they don't think about how to turn the idea - their bigger-than life vision - into reality. They set the goal, but fail to develop the plan of action that will carry them through to the end. Every goal needs a plan of action to make it happen. Make sure none of your goals contradict each other. For example, if your goal is to work two full time jobs to get ahead financially, it would be a contradiction to have an educational goal of going to college full time while doing so. Start by trying to form a clear vision of what you want. You may only have a vague idea, and that's okay, but the sharper you can make the image of what you want, the better your mind can hold the vision. Think about what you want your life to look like. You may not know the particulars, but some things will naturally come to mind. What kinds of activities do you want to be doing? Where do you really want to be living? Really think about it and dream your dreams until you can hold onto a clear picture of what you want your life to be.
