by Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

"Better You Forget Me" by Ehsan Elahi Ehsan is a manuscript of poety that tells the author's deepest feelings and beliefs. This collection consists of five poems, all of which are parts of a larger whole. The poem is eponymously titled "Better You Forget Me," and it is a lengthy poem broken into five parts presented sequetially. All parts of the poem are free verse stanzas that rarely rhyme. This poem examines the nature of humanity, the struggle of the human condition, and the desire for life. Consequently, an incredible range of subjects are addressed, one of which is the author's frustration with himself: Sometime a man becomes desgusted of himself, He is caught by a strange kind of frustration, He feels himself deprived despite having every thing,

Later, the author finds grace in the midst of despaire when he says" My tears have learnt to be happy in the worst conditions My tears have known the secrets of loving hearts Seeing your generosity my head is bowing with gratitude,

The author leaves the reader with a parting message, which presumably is intended to be inspiration for his granddaughter and daughter-in-law, to whom this work has been dedicated. He concludes by saying:

We depart after givig you some help in your life We go after giving you the ideas we had with us Although there are some bitter pills for you Yet there are many sweet passions to motivate you.
