Non-accounting people can get bamboozeled by the accounting terms used. Every trade has it's own jargon and accounting is no exception. Accountants need these terms to do their job correctly. For the lay person it can however be quite daunting. Dr. Alim Al Ayub Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Accounting, ASA University Bangladesh, is known for his ability to explain accounting in a clear manner. His background includes 10 years of being rated as an outstanding university level accounting instructor and more than 15 publications as an effective and pure accounting researcher. His simple, clear and accurate explanations allow people without accounting backgrounds to master accounting concepts. His definition of accounting is "Accounting is nothing but plus (+) and minus (-)". His research interest includes compliance of financial disclosure and innovation in accounting education.
